Bad Behavior

It’s not always the out of staters making the mess. A week ago Friday we @stasw8 and I found this pile at a parking area. To us it looked like someone had a party at one of the lakeside campsites and either left their junk at the site and others carried it out or itContinue reading “Bad Behavior”

Rhubarb

I love Rhubarb. I could go on and on about rhubarb just like Bubba did about shrimp in the movie Forest Gump. If I ever need to request a last meal, it will be all Rhubarb deserts, period. My first jar of Rhubarb sauce came by trade. It was a handshake deal. I cleaned outContinue reading “Rhubarb”

May 18th and 19th

Big change from last weekend. Water temps at the two lakes I fished over the were 64-65 degrees. I targeted pike on Saturday and trout/salmon Sunday. Primarily calm winds both days with clouds giving way to sunshine mid morning. I caught a small pike Saturday and missed two others. I know musky is considered theContinue reading “May 18th and 19th”

The Dog Days are over.

Last weekend May 4th and 5th I found myself being drawn to Lake George again. This time I went out of Veterans park and fished the Tongue Mt area. The water was flat calm for a while and the fishing was slow. Water temp had moved up to 50ish degrees. Around 8:30 a breeze kickedContinue reading “The Dog Days are over.”

April 20, 2024 Report

I played the wind and fished Lake George today. National Weather Service predicted wind out of the west, 7-11 up to 23 mph. I figured I could hug the west shore and the wind would go over me. To my surprise it was calm/flat till 2 pm.  Water temp is 45-46.  I Landed 2, 26Continue reading “April 20, 2024 Report”

Lake George Ice Fishing

February 2,2022 Since my last report I’ve been the ice on Lake George has become thick enough for me to be comfortable. I prefer a minimum of 6 inches before starting to venture out too far. Fortunately the weather has cooperated and although heating bills have escalated so has the thickness of the ice. InContinue reading “Lake George Ice Fishing”

January 8th 2022

Winter has finally showed up. Not the full force of winter like we experienced in the past, but just enough to make ice safe for me to go out on. My preference is 4″ and better. What I found was a varied thickness from 5″ to 8″ with a few inches of snow on top.Continue reading “January 8th 2022”
